SUMMER SPECIAL! Vaughan Cutillo, Co-Founder of Montauk Brewing Company, steps on to the New York Launch Pod to discuss his brewery and tap room located on the easternmost point of New York State: Montauk.

Montauk Brewing Company was founded in the summer of 2012 by three friends: Eric Moss, Joe Sullivan and Vaughan Cutillo, who all grew up in Montauk.  The company traces its genesis to 2009 when the three co-founders were home-brewing five gallons of beer at a time in a basement yet had their eyes on higher ambitions.   After navigating various laws and regulations and gaining support from the Town of East Hampton, the Montauk Brewing Company opened its doors at 62 South Erie Avenue, Montauk, New York in June 2012.

With distribution across all of Long Island and as far as New York City the Montauk Brewing Company is a success and trying to keep up with demand.  The Taproom is stocked with 6 beers on rotation including the two year round brews of the Driftwood Ale and Session IPA and becomes a gathering place for the community and summer tourists alike with  weekly events including Breathe and Brews (yoga) and Bells and Brews (kettle bells).  Importantly the Montauk Brewing Company stays true to its roots and hosts a variety of fundraisers at the Taproom.

Listen to the podcast to get a behind the scenes understanding of the laid back brand with the slogan “come as you are”, how it came up with its logo and branding that is uniquely Montauk, and what is like to do business year round in Montauk, New York.
